  • Looks like a 60 degree crank to me?

  • @Phocusali I think you mean 120 degree.

  • @LongshanksSid With that motor running at 5 Hz as it is there, its easy to stop. When it gets wound up to full speed it'd have your hand off way before you can press an emergency stop button. It has an electrical lock-out system, its called unplugging it from the wall. Of course if you're not happy using something like this, you don't use it. When this engine is fully working in the boat, there isn't anything to prevent you from putting your fingers in the crank just the same as here.

  • Loose clothing and moving parts dont match well. Keep your hands away from that when its moving!

  • A fitter is hardly a tradesman al they do is replace parts. An engineer can make the part from scratch from a block of metal. Running in is the only way to get the correct fit of a rotating or reciprocating part.

  • @maltelec Indeed i do. Thanks. Humdinger of a crank.

  • No matter what you do there isalways someone to come in and find something to degrade you..

  • @DontScatter what the hell is that meant to mean?

  • ... too many 'moms' out there.

    however, that gearing rig

looks like it come off an old tow-motor.

sounds it too- high rpm's & relativety slow

    pully speed= remendous torque!

I hauled 5- 10 ton pallet loads with 'em...

    could rip an arm off!

  • @LongshanksSid shut up hippies.

  • @EpicureMammon Of course you can it's being built and is being tested, Duh!!!!!
