39th Turbomachinery Symposium

This past October, ACQUIP, INC returned to the wonderful city of Houston, Texas, to participate in the 39th Turbomachinery Symposium. The tradeshow was held in the George R. Brown Convention Center, a beautiful building that seems brand new and that is attached to the Hilton America's in downtown Houston, overlooking Discovery Green Park.

The show, which is sponsored by The Turbomachinery Laboratory of Texas A&M University, held several short courses on topics such as Introduction to Steam Turbines and Combined Cycle and Cogeneration Power. Discussion groups, tutorials, and lectures relating to similar industry topics, such as Turbomachinery and Gas Turbine Operation and Maintenance, were also held at the show. Throughout the three days, the show was open to the public for over a total of nine hours at no charge at the door! It was nice to see all of the local businesses that took advantage of that opportunity.

Our purpose of attending the tradeshow was to build new business, professional relationships with our fellow exhibitioners and show attendees. Not only were we able to create new friendships, but we were also able to reconnect with old ones. By the end of the show, we had developed a special friendship with all of our exhibiting neighbors.

The ACQUIP, INC booth was set up and managed by our own Vice President of Marketing, Ms. Storm Josefsberg, and her Marketing Intern, Ms. Natali Iglesias-Mendoza. Our representatives were prepared to answer any questions about ACQUIP, INC's laser alignment services and the laser alignment equipment offered for rental. At the booth, we offered koozies with the company logo on it and a chance for someone to win an iPod Shuffle through a drawing at the end of the show. Congratulations again to the lucky winner of the drawing, Phillip Mosher from Sulzer Turbo Services!

Our trip to Houston was a complete worthwhile experience and we are excited to go back again to Houston next year for the 40th Turbomachinery Symposium in September!
