  • Could you please show me how you start from the beginning of this leaf pattern?? I really want to make this but I don't know how to start

  • @lovehim4ever11 Hello! At the top of my channel you will see "Playlists" click on that and then on the right the top playlist to appear will be the one for this scarf. I have a video for each of the rows of the scarf.

  • So I hold my yarn in my right hand and I'm not sure I'm doing the yo correctly. Do I just yo the opposite of you?

  • @elaineyj199 Hello! The yarn travels over the needle following the same path whether you hold it in your left hand or right. For a yarn over (YO) the yarn moves around the rt needle with the same path as if you were doing a knit stitch the only difference is you didn't stick your needle into the next st on your left needle. The motion with yarn in right hand is to move the yarn behind the rt needle, to the left and back to the front in "ready" position for the next stitch. Hope that helped!!

  • where is the beginning part of this? I want to start knitting the same one

  • @ekamegre Sorry for the delay, your message got flagged for some reason. You can find the written pattern by Googling Brooke's Column of Leaves scarf. I have an entire playlist showing this scarf row by row. You can find the link to my playlists on my main channel page at YouTube.

  • When I'm knitting I have a tendency to pull my stitches really tight. I have bee told that I shouldn't do that, however when I don't I always think it's to loose.

Question: Is anything ever really too loose?

  • When I knit I tend to pull the stitches really tight... is that bad?

  • ok thanks for your help - I haven't used that yarn but I have used some yarn where the plys separate and make it hard to work with - I wanted to try my luck at this scarf and I feel like with your videos I will do okay - I am so getting obsessed with knitting - I am working on a throw, my first sock on double pointed needles and i have a sweater to add the collar on and its done

  • @Elizren Hello! I do find manual winders helpful for big winding jobs. So often the skein is a mess about 1/2 through for smaller winding a just make a center pull ball around my hand so I don't have to hook up the winder. I bought mine when I was determined to get my yarn organized - it helped immensely!

The yarn is Lion Brand Microspun. It's alright; but its easy to stick your needle through the strand and one of the sts, the the p2tbl I believe, would "unwind" the yarn a bit.

  • do you find the manual yarn winders helpful? I have recently returned to knitting in a serious and committed way and am trying to learn all the tricks and secrets and I bet you have a lot of them thanks and the red is such a pretty color where did you get that red yarn?
