More music on umop.com/parallax.htm !

By popular demand (or at least, popular "why the hell not"), here's how to play this noodly little Van Halen song on something it wasn't meant for: a keyboard. Hopefully it can be of use to those of you with a keytar or something. I actually play this with my '80s band with my guitarist who allows me to double his parts for added wank factor. Perhaps you too can bathe in similar wank for an equally unlucky audience someday.

  • "It´s easier to play it on a guitar cause the shape uuhh.. of the pattern stays over all the frets. Basicly on piano it´s just... Crazy crap" haha

  • Yeah, this was definitely a solo more easily played on guitar. Unless you can't play guitar, like me! :o)

  • I can play eruption on piano!

  • I remember playing Eruption on synths in the music store growing up in the '80s, and getting looks of disdain from many a salesperson...

  • Awesome video ! How long you practice to play that solo ? Amazing !

    Appreciate !

  • Thank you very much for creating this! I'm fairly accomplished but I'm still having a hard time following it. For the second part (where the first shape uses a, b, c, e), you said to start on the A, but in most of the examples it looks like you're starting on C. It's also not clear how to transition from one set to the next because that's never shown slowly. It seems like the first set has seven notes but the rest have five? If you ever re-do this video I hope you'll show it in slow-mo. Thx!

  • that is FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!

  • Dude, what kind of a Moog keyboard is that? It sounds freaking badass :D Pls, if anyone knows, tell me! :DDD

  • HOLY FUCK I COULDN'T GO THAT FAST IN A MILLION YEARS

  • @PhantomKode It was so awesome. You cannot even begin to imagine it unless you were there.

  • best teacher ever
