Andy's Song by Nic Harcourt (2008)

My nephew, Isaiah, was born November 4, 2008 with his intestines outside of his body. He was flown by helicopter a few hours after his birth from Green Bay to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee. He endured surgeries, medications, and at times things did not look good. Obviously this was though on my brother and his wife. I could only imagine what Andy was going though watching his son suffer though what he did, so I wrote this song from his point of view. We've come to his first birthday, and little Isaiah is walking around and other then the scars, is a perfectly happy little boy. I've only shared this song with family and close friends, so in honor of his first birthday I recorded and posted this. No, I don't sing the greatest and I'm not the worlds most talented guitarist, but I'm proud of this song more then anything else I've written. Please leave comments or constructive criticizims, I'd love to hear them. If your a douch bag that only knows how to rip on people, please keep your mouth shut.

i found this while searching for "andy songs", to post for our son andy's 21st birthday in april. we lost andy on 30 january of this year. your song is reminiscent of mark schultz' "he's my son", which we had played at andy's funeral...i guess so that we could all have a really good, hard cry...

I teach guitar at a university that offers a degree in music therapy. This is music therapy at its finest!! I can feel how close you are to your brother and that is beautiful. So is the song! Good job.
