Diamond Ring Blues

This is the sound of the first blues band I ever played in (mid '60s) - and blues harp was my first ever instrument. I first heard "Diamond Ring Blues" on a Sonny Terry/Brownie McGhee album called "Back Country Blues" - bought on Leicester market in 1964, when I was a student.

On this recording I'm playing acoustic and electric guitars, mouth harp, piano, acoustic bass guitar - with a drum programmed backing and a two-vocal harmony.

Amazing, The piano playing sounded a bit like Chris Staiton (Sorry If I Mis-Spelled). Blues is what inspired me to play, robert johnnson, and eric clapton, really have been my foundations in the blues, think you could do a robert johnson song?! :~)

I bought Back Country Blues LP too, much the same time as you, probably from that infamous shop on Charing X Road, whose name escapes me but I understand that its closed now.

The shop was Doug Dobell's Jazz Record Shop, at 77 Charing Cross Road - I used to haunt it at lunchtimes... :-)
