This is a Federal Signal Model 5A at the Gilead Fire & Rescue in Huntersville NC. The second video was made from around 900 ft away. This siren is not used for fire calls any more. The siren was bought sometime between 1965-1969.

  • Whats with that red model 5 in the start?

  • We have a model 5 housing that we just finished repainting and were showing the people at the FD how it looked b/c they are thinking about repainting the one in the video.

  • Is that a Model 2 and a Model 5 I see in the begining?

  • Yes it is, we were showing them the color we painted on our model 5

  • what dus the PGA stand for?nice video.

  • The PGA timer was a timer that federal made that worked like the AR timer except it only had 1 function. It would only do a 2 min attack plusit had a test button.

  • Very cool I like federal model 5s. Thanks for posting. :)

  • Does the siren mean that there is a bomb in Gilead?

If you don't get it, don't comment.

  • The timer ismade by Zenith. It was installed in 1967. They are using a Motorola receiver, im not sure of the model but I know it was installed in 1982.
