Better chain then the first time. Agian thanks todd. I'm guessing the popping might be air getting into the fuel line. It runs good as it is now, however come colder weather I'll replace all the lines.

  • whats ur right thumb doing??? is that the manual oiler?? I got a homelite XL as well..it looks nothing like that.

  • Yes my right thumb is operating the manual oiler. Homelite made two styles of XL. One version looked very similar to the XL-12. Most noticable difference is the location of the oil tank. The second version was an arborist saw.

  • how do u know the year of a homelite chain saw. UT 100803 xl12

  • Your xl 12 sounds sick. You need to adjust your carb. Turn clockwise to seat high and low settings. Then turn one full turn counterclockwise on both the H and L settings. Start saw and adjust trigger till chain stops moving.

  • hear that popping sound check your carb for gunk in it and make sure the carb is clean

  • How about some chaps.

  • I have Xl- automatic oiler from the mid '70s. is does still have a manual thumb pump to add more oil if needed.

  • it should have more power well my xl12 does

  • i have one too the carb cover is black and the rest is red with white letters

  • That did cut better then your first video
