@mba2ceo those fish ARE edible, and good. They feed on algae and plankton, so they don't build up a lot of toxins in their flesh. People are trying to market them as "silverfin."
They breed worse than roaches grow like weeds and are cheaper than dirt. They'd be a good resource for pet food, aquaculture and for human consumption. They just have to be marketed successfully.

This is all BS ... I smell a scam. BUILD a cannery on the river, create thousands of jobs and supply all the shelters with cat and dog food. Also great fertilizer. If other fish are eatable why NOT these carps.

If people won't eat it I bet pigs would...........

@valentin6li why must you deceive the masses when that is clearly what happened, right down to the hideous laughter and then escape by, im assuming, rocket pack

@321atm "u buggers destroyed other nations, so now its time for kickbacks(paybacks)" I just love it when I get blamed for something I had nothing to do with, but since I share the same genetic line it is somehow my fault, lol. GTFOH racist.
What I mean was that catfish farmers from the 70's imported them to keep the ponds clean, since they were such excellent bottom-feeders. Then a flood happened and they got into the Missisippi river and multiplied like mad.
Not like it was some mischiveous chinamen who hid them in his suitcase and flew ALL THE WAY here. By-passing air security and threw the Asian Carp in the Great Lakes while laughing hideously.

I know the name of the fish is Asian Carp, but it's not neccessarily Asians who release them.
