With a new set of vocals, this should've gone on the album. Although that might've made the album a bit too long - about 46 minutes, too long for such long funky shit.

LOVE LOVE IT!

Wonder what "Fingerprint File" would have sounded with Bill Wyman on bass instead of Mick Taylor? Love the bootleg recording of "Fingerprint File" from the LA forum in 1975 with Ron Wood on bass. Dave Ritt

@decristo1021 Yeah,in retrospect,"Black & Blue, ain't bad,but at the time, it was for most Stones fans, somewhat of a letdown.Although they became still even more successful, but also more bland at the same time. One can hear, they had a mission, to once and for all, clean up financialy.Which they did admirably so.At the cost of loosing that 60's and early 70's spark.Which they still managed to capture now & then ofcourse.

That period when Ronnie joined the group -- got more funky

This does sound pure black and blue. Mick and Keith are trying to be the Ohio Players. Black and Blue is actually a good album, and it's not ALL fund/disco. Crazy Mama, Hand of Fate are both hard rockers a la Brown Sugar. For Stones funk, for me, Fingerprint File will never be topped.

Very funky and sits nicely in that mid-70s era when Ron Wood joined the group and they were up against Disco too. Thanks for posting, never heard this one before, very interesting.
