I recorded this performance at the Cafe Espresso (Tinker Street Cafe) one June night after Liz Caprotti mentioned to me that she'd cut Liam's hair. The Hothouse Flowers were recording at Bearsville Studio and dropped into the cafe to play over several evenings without any announcements. I believe that Liam is one of the great performers. I was reminded that this video was on the shelf after seeing and enjoying his film, "Dambe:The Mali Project" on Link TV. It follows Liam and Paddy Keenan to Africa to play with musicians in the desert. Best wishes. I'll post more of this very intimate performance.
Thank you so much for sharing this video! Liam's happiness in this is infectious ... the studio version of this song never did it any justice, but with the way it sounds here, it's one of their best. Thanks again x

Amazing - the Flowers were/are/will always be the best live band around. Saw them live in 1988/89 when Dont Go was released and they still live true to their busking roots!!! Ever seen a set list for a Flowers gig??? No, 'cos they dont have them!!!
Thanks for posting this - very rare and simply sums up why the boys are quite simply a must see if they are in your town!

What a beautfiul song. Beautiful lyrics. I was looking for a full version as the other on here is not complete -- I can't wait as Liam and Hothouse Flowers will be in NYC in March. What a talent.
