By far, my single most peculiar friend of 27 years, was the late BRIAN CHIC. He had an unfortunate penchant for singing in public and he considered German to be the funniest of all languages, so concocted this 'original' German version. Its root, in fact, came from England. Truly absurd.

"the weasel rounds to spring".

The english for this being from "to round" in the sense of "to turn about", as in "turnabout is fair play"?

That is, after all, the sense or lesson of the rhyme.
