Watch the front of the garbage truck after it passes me. A good bit of luck happened to everyone today. No injuries, minor damage.

The driver of the firebird told me that the little car "came out of nowhere" and struck his driver's side door, causing him to lose control. The median has low shrubbery which prevented me from seeing anything until after the spins.

  • Why in the hell are you driving a soap box car down the highway ?

  • @yynnmmbb, it's called a velomobile, a human powered vehicle and has all the rights to the roadway that other road users have. I am driving the velomobile on the roadway in order to travel to my destination.

  • @freddotu , I understand. I would not trust all of the other crazy drivers that are in bigger , heavier vehicles.

  • @yynnmmbb, it's a common misconception, but one that is easily push aside after having taken a cycling safety course. It's one of those things where you realize how easily it's done and how much better riding can be. I can't post links here, but if you check out

  • @monkah15, if you ride a bicycle on any roadway, a Cycling Savvy course (two Vs, not a W) is a good investment in safety. One would not jump from an airplane without training although it could be done. Riding a bike can be safer than you think. Thank you for a civil discussion.

  • @monkah15, the certificate is meaningless. The training put to use, turned into experience is not. After nearly 25,000 miles of riding this particular vehicle using that training suggests that your assessment is incorrect. Take the course, practice the training or not. If you had a cycling safety course under your belt, you would not suggest as you have, because you would know better.

  • @monkah15, having taken a cycling safety class and an instructors certification seminar, I can tell you that your assessment is incorrect by many orders of magnitude.

  • Yikes!

  • Get rid of private cars and that will not happen..

  • thats rare to see on that end of bevile rd. havent seen many accidents up on that end. but now down towards the golf course thats a different story
