It wasn't even close!
State Assemblyman Greg Ball crushed former Brewster Mayor John Degnan in a Republican Primary for the 99th Assembly District Tuesday by a 3-1 margin.
Ball, who failed to garner support of the Putnam and Dutchess County Republican County Committees, challenged Degnan to a primary and this time the people spoke loud and clear.
Ball tallied 2,727 votes in Putnam to Degnan's 1,162. In Dutchess, the incumbent received 432 votes to Degnan's 126 and in Westchester, Ball out muscled Degnan 1,629 to 474.
At a celebration in Yorktown Heights late Tuesday following the victory, Ball told his supporters, "I have challenged some of the most powerful people in New York State. I live day-to-day, but as long as my supporters don't allow me to be hurt politically and personally, I will go back to Albany and fight like hell for them."
