Poor Nancy Skinner. A good, smart candidate for Illinois Senate in 2004. She had a media presence, as a stalwart on WLS radio and sidekick on the Doug Stefan morning program, good support and seemingly a leg up over her rivals. But she got steamrolled by an upstart state senator in that election, and the rest was history.
It was also the start of a pattern of that upstart senator defeating well-entrenched women rivals.
