A STEP BACK IN TIME TO WATCH ONE OF THE EARLIEST EXAMPLES OF FILMED DANCE: THES ALLOWS US TO CATCH A GLIMPSE OF WHAT BALLET MUST HAVE BEEN LIKE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CENTURY: THE PHYSIQUE OF VASILI TIKHOMIROV, ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS DANCER OF THAT ERA, IS STRIKINGLY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT WE EXPECT TODAY. IT WAS TIKHOMIROV WHO BEGAN THE TRADITION OF MANLY AND HEROIC DANCERS FOR WHICH THE BOLSHOI BECAME SO FAMOUS. THE
BEAUTIFUL STYLE OF HIS PARTNER (AND WIFE), EKATERINA GELTZER, IS STILL IMPRESSIVE.

This is incredible, I only wich that the film was slowed down to proper speed to give one a real impression of the pacing, etc. This gives one a flavor for the level of technique which all of the great Ballerinas and Danseurs of old had in this period. Geltzer was Prima of the Imperial Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow, as was Tikhomirov the Premiere. One can concentrate on technique, or rather on the "pizzaz" she demonstrates which is not seen as much these days.......

muy hemoso
imagino lo dificil que era en ese tiempo pararse en puntas puesto que en la epoca actual las zapatillas ya son fabricadas dependiendo de las necesidades de la bailarina ademas de usar otros truquitos
es todo un tesoro y asi toda las personas pueden tener una idea de la tecnica de la antigua escuela de ballet
