Until you actually visit THE ANGEL OF THE NORTH, You can not begin to understand the beauty of her, nor the wonderment of engineering that went into her.. it is like standing beneath a huge spiritual embrace.

Just come back from Newcastle, great city by the way, and this is a great landmark youve created. Saw it up close on the way back.

They were going to build a statue like this is Leeds before this but all the silly asses wrote in complaining about it. Instead of thinking it would draw tourist they seemed to think they would take the money for it directly from orphans. Anyway the long and the short is that this is now a famous landmark and Leeds has nothing to remember it by. All the dumb ass locals tried to stop this too actually. Now it brings in millions each year.

@rothschad The Angel is designed to represent northern industry and working class hard work. You couldn't make an Angel of the South out of anything representative because it would just melt.
-
did you know it would take over 250 million Hula Hoops to weigh the same as the Angel of the North!

I love the Angel.

@bangingtunez and @TheSoulVids it's not in Newcastle, it's in Gateshead.

I'm proud to live in Newcastle!

I went there today! It's brilliant!

lol, he could've made the wings cooler (feather-winged), but made him well-hung :P

ahh the wings really ruin it don't they? I love the shape of the body, especially the feet, but the wings :S they're just so flat and square and wrong looking.

@StephenKuma Nah, that's what makes it great! It's a hard Northern angel, not a soft, feather-winged southern angel :p

Thats brilliant. The south gets Arenas, Bridges, giant wheels, museums and galeries yet the north is very happy with 100 tons of rusty metal! When our olympic stadium if finished were gunna send you up a foil wrapped shed. Hmmm enjoy!

@rothschad You know a lot about the North, we've no bridges or arenas, galleries or museums whatsoever

@shineyrow Yeah you do, theres just nothing in them. Well nothing interesting anyway. But do not be so dispondent as the north is a history museum in itself.

@rothschad why don't you go and smash your router with a hammer because you're too thick to configure it. Oh, just looked at your channel, you did that already.
