HH the Dalai Lama initiated a number of additional major democratic steps, including the direct elections of Kalons (Ministers) by the Assembly of Tibetan People's Deputies and the establishment of a judiciary branch. Previously Kalons appointed directly by His Holiness.

The same young protesters in their 20s are the same ones against China in Sudan. How easy it is for Western media to skip the fact that Britain influenced Egypt to take Sudanese lands in exchange for safe nile passgae and access only to find out oil rules the world after WWI and took over Sudan by force in 1925. Britain is so cool in setting up a two faction system in Sudan to secure oil that it created civil war expanding 50+ years. China needs oil, Sudan wants weapons, so it is business.
