Robonaut 2 ready for International Space Station
NASA TO LAUNCH HUMAN-LIKE ROBOT TO JOIN SPACE STATION CREW KSC
NASA will launch a humanoid robot later this year to become a permanent resident of the International Space Station. Robonaut 2, or R2 for short, will go where no robot of its kind has gone before.
The robot, was developed jointly by NASA and General Motors under a cooperative agreement, will launch on space shuttle Discovery as part of the STS-133 mission set for September.
Discovery will leave R2 behind to work on the station, giving engineers a chance to see how the robot fares in weightlessness. Operating R2 in microgravity, as well as the stations radiation and electromagnetic interference environment
will provide performance data on how a robot may work side-by-side with astronauts.

  • OMG......DEAD SPACE!! but nice. :)

  • Guys, could you PLEASE hurry the hell up and just build Mega Man already?

  • Incredible!!!!

Diese Präzision der Bewegungen und ...ER... kann ja unglaubliche Gewichte mit Leichtigkeit bewegen! ... außer die Stromversorgung versagt! ...LOL...

  • I wonder if there is a Military version of this Robot ? mmmmmmmmm

  • Metroid Prototype.

  • Bender in action!!! All humans are dead!!!

  • @coolestdude80 Seriously this is embarassing, If we cant do better we need to steal some new technology then contract the Chinese to assemble it for us.

  • @CosmosPrivateer Why should any thing made by GM have a US flag on it? The government just bails them out so the can give contracts to the lowest bidder.

  • Why doesn't R-2 have the American flag patch????

NASA and GM symbols but not American????

Maybe R-2 has a made in America tag.
