[Watch in HD] Earlier this year, Union Pacific held a contest (to determine where one of UP's steam locomotives would travel) with four routes chosen by the fans (the Little Rock Express, the Tuscola Turn, the Baton Rouge Rambler, and the Boise Express), with the Little Rock Express coming out on top. Me and my dad took a small vacation down to the Southern Illinois area and caught UP 844 running by three locations on the UP Chester Sub as it heads towards Cape Girardeau (where it will stop for the day).
Shot #1 - 8:58 a.m.
The train (running under the ID UP SSLCG-04) arrives at the north end of Dupo.
UP 4-8-4 844

Shot #2 - 10:21 a.m.
After battling some heavy traffic on Illinois Route 3, me and my dad managed to make it to Prairie du Rocher, Illinois (UP 844's second whistle stop) before the train departed for Chester.
Shot #3 - 11:18 a.m.
Our final shot of 844 as the train sprints through rural Cora, Illinois (about 15 minutes south of Chester).
Thanks for watching!
