Thank you for your video! I'm just starting out, I've been sketching abstract graffiti for a while, I'm comfortable enough with my skill to want to scan it in, but never knew anything about what you just showed me with highlights and such. I've yet to see an actual video demonstrate the technique of coloring, until yours. Thanks for taking the time! What advice do you have for a beginning artist with aspirations of making paintings as such? I'm subscribing to you RIGHT NOW!

If I want to experiment with different looks, I'll put the base color on one layer, the shadows on another and the highlights on another. Sometimes, I may do a painting that has a lot of use of "Overlay" "Soft Light" and "Multiply" modes so I have to keep everything separate. Please watch my....

I vary between 20-75. Depending on what I want. 20 is softer and more like chalk - higher numbers are more like smudging oil paints.
