@isfahani regardless, it's still awful.
-
@mrskinszszs ..Arch is the original!..imitation is the sincerest from of flattery!!!

Stereotype? LMFAO... He's singing exactly the same way as he did back in 1986... How many singers have to copy you over how many decades for it to become a stereotype? Cool!
-
@aldersmoke1 DT is my fav band, but youre right
-
that voice hits every single prog metal "nerdy" stereotype imaginable. but damn the musicianship is aces. go bobby.
-
Really cool, but I do not like the voice.
-
@aldersmoke1 You can be part right, but think that came from a DT too high with the "images and words" and "awake".
However, opinions are many and all are respectable but I think DT is incomparable and acknowledge that their last albums were not good. But do not know why I always fall into the trap of comparing ...

The open hand technique looks very cool and looks like there are some advantages and few problems. Bobby is phenomenal. He elevates this release to the top of the mountain with his Extra-Peart playing.

@NoGoDum911: Ain't that the truth. I been trying to turn people onto A/M and that's the one thing I hear over and over: "Love the music, but the singer, not so much" *sigh*

@outlaw6066 I believe that the auditions were irrelevant. DT (aside from Labrie), are all Berklee college students. Mangini is a professor at Berklee, I believe that they picked Mangini right after Portnoy quit and they probably had auditions to make a big deal about it., watch the spirit carries on and you'll hear Petrucci say that Mangini was '' one of the first names that came up'', Berklee students stick together, those rats. Jarzombek is just as good as Mangini.
@outlaw6066 DT got Mangini. Who is great. Who was then forced to play drum parts Petrucci wrote. Resulting in a stale-ass performance. This Arch/Matheos record proves once again how and why Fates have always been the superior band: for all their technical ability, they never lose sight of the actual songs. DT simply can't resist flights of technical fancy, which can be fun but ultimately don't say much. This A/M shit is where its at: technique in service of the idea, not the other way around.

excellent drumming,excellent sound,music is so cool.The only thing i don't like is vocals,i just can't listen that kind voice for a long time..the vocal lines are cool and original actually,but it's always written for high notes,and it's disturbing after you listen 2 or 3 songs from this album..
