A shorter version of the video of Obama at Nick's.

Rumors spread this past Friday about an Obama stop in downtown Bloomington. Getting a call from a friend with the simple message: "Get to Nick's! Right now! You need to get a beer at Nick's! Now!" So that's where I went, wearing my Nick's shirt, video camera in hand.

Nick's English Hut is one of the top sports bars in the country. Although it is definitely a college hangout, the clientele crosses several generations. This 80-year old establishment is a must-stop for anyone passing through the college town of Bloomington, Indiana. So it's not surprising that this was the place the Obama campaign picked for an impromptu stop.
Senator Obama made eye contact with every single person in the bar. His smile is genuine and he seemed to be enjoying himself. The seriousness the citizens of Bloomington took this opportunity was also uplifting, with comments like: " I'm a small businessman, we need your help" and "we're teachers, don't forget about education".

  • I like Nicks and Btown in general went to school at IU and lived there. They screwed it up with the Obama clip. Too bad.

  • this guy is great! i'm glad he didn't sell out and start taking shots, like a certain person we know.

  • Great video! Say "NO!" 2 McBush. Reject the HillBill(ies). Vote 4 Barack (Who's Sane) Obama!!

    A Mama 4 Obama!!!

  • I'm so proud of my home state for getting behind this man. The number of people who patted him on the back says it all. Hoosiers know a baller when they see one, and they know Obama is the guy our team needs in the game, with the ball in his hands. Thanks Duane!

  • As a former longtime resident of Bloomington, I am so grateful to whomever created this memory of a moment in history. I saw many old friends on the video and the most important thing of all is to see up close one of the most inspirational leaders of our time; Obama.

  • 180 views and no one left a comment. I think the video tells it all. When a Presidential Candidate can make you feel better about being an American, then he should win! A true leader motivates people to take feel good and take action. Gooooooo Obama!
