I'd love to see some pics or videos of what it was like before the house and the street were all fixed up. I'd say "gentrified" but I wouldn't say that's fair. Up until the 1970's the area was a functional area where homeowners took care of the houses. Maybe the new West Harlem is just a return to the quality it used to have.

I was shocked by the look of Salami. I expected this huge ugly guy with a wide-eyed leer. Maybe that's what he was like on crack.
Back in 2000 you'd have to be insane to do what she did. My father and I used to restore old houses in Bergenfield, New Jersy, and it nearly drove us to kill each other.
