No tribute to Swing is complete without commemorating WWII. In this series, civilians just finished singing a gospel infused "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition." Sirens begin to wail as an intense battle scene is staged through modern dance.
As the battle ends (almost exactly three minutes into the video) and soldiers either survive or fall, "America the Beautiful" softly plays as a mother receives "The Letter" that her son will not be returning.
The tribute culminates as a lone soldier, struggling under the weight of the American flag, calls for help and the rest of his platoon raises the flag with him to form the famous image on Iwo Jima.
