This Weeks Bible Question:
Hebrews 6:4-6 seems to imply that it is impossible for someone to have a relationship with God, fall away, & then come back to him because in doing so they put God to shame. Your take on these verses would be appreciated.

all i can do is put my trust in Him and know that i was prodigal son and have repentedof my ways and want toserve him i think there is a lot of false gospelsandreally liberal ones and the fact that the church has been falling apart and not equipping new believers and rallying behind them to teach them the truth and disciple them all the way to full maturity or maybe it is Gods design for some to fall away cause you know what i love and appreciate him more now than i ever did much is forgiven

ya he restored me 8 months ago and man i have been chasing him every since i love him so and think of all the time i wasted.i went through a period of time where i thought i had lost my salvation and even just now watched a guy Tim Conway ill be honest which scared the crap out of me again and he was responding to two letters from people that said they had lost there salvation and he was trying to scare them into repentance, i know he has restored me but some times i get angry and wonder

The Armenian thinking reminds me of the Catholic point of view, where Christ is always paying Atonement- He is on the Cross forever, not the one time spoken of in the Bible. Heb 9:28, 1 Peter 3:18

@GodsChild158 Not necessarily, only God knows the heart of man- we can olny assume. The Prodigal son did return to his father and was RESTORED- the love of that father never "left" the heart of the son even though the son strayed. God convicts us of our rebellion even unto our death- I KNOW I was saved and I KNOW I rebelled and "fell-away" and He never (not one single day) stopped convicting me until I returned and was restored unto Him. He whom the Father loveth He chasteneth...

This is an excellent explanation. If you come back and finish the race you were always saved. If you never come back you never were so technically you never lose your salvation, but I don't think he means "once saved always saved" :)

Wow. Thank you for your explanation on this passage. That makes perfect sense. Looking forward to hearing the remaining Bible Questions with Michael Pearl.

He should have been more clear in stating such a response. And Micheal if your out there I would deeply appreciate your concern for the many people watching this video. Gods Blessings.

I think this man is trying to say the passage is strictly hypothetical. Which means it cant actually happen. Notice he says this passage can be scary IF tooken out of context. And that you would have to be an Arminian someone who feels you can loose your salvation. Almost as if he believes in eternal security. Wich means those who have gotten "saved:" then fallen away were truly never saved in the first place.
