Baywalk. Development Review Commission. St. Petersburg, FL. 9/2/09.
This was intended to be a public forum to discuss the city of St. Pete's plan to stop protests in front of a downtown shopping mall. But the City Attorney wiggled his way into the meeting and told the commission that protesters rights are "not relevant to your decision".
Although St. Pete for Peace and Veterans for Peace made an overwhelming case for keeping the sidewalk public, the commission voted 6-1 to allow the city to kick out protesters. The city council is next to vote on the issue.
In this video, the commission is reminded by Marianne Huber.that stopping protests in front of Baywalk is un-Constitutional.
