==Shaykh-ul-Islam's message to workers and MQI chapters about rehabilitation of Swat IDPs==

A meeting of representatives and office bearers of local chapters of MQI Lahore was held in the central secretariat to streamline the efforts for relief and rehabilitation of internally displaced people (IDPs) of Malakand Division. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri gave special briefing and message for the workers and MQI branches around the world. He said that 1.5 million people have been forced to migrate to safer locations following military action against the militants. This is the biggest migration after the partition of Hindustan. Children and women are also there in large numbers. These homeless people are waiting for our help and support in this critical hour. He instructed all office holders and workers to visit each house in their respective locality and plead people to give donations for our suffering brethren so that maximum donations should be dispatched in the minimum time for help of the helpless people.

Briefing the audience about the relief efforts undertaken so far by Minhaj Welfare Foundation, Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi said that tent settlement were put in place in Mardan and Peshawar, whereas free ambulance service had also been launched. In addition to this, Minhaj Welfare Hospital had also been set up. He said that the people of Swat and Malakand need the following items very badly. The workers should campaign for collection of these items:

1. Flour, sugar, pulses, water and other eatables
2. Mattresses, pillows and blankets
3. Pedestal fans
4. Crockery for everyday use, water cooler, plastic buckets
5. Mosquito killers
6. Tents

Nazim-e-Ala instructed all workers and associates of MQI to cooperate fully with the team of Minhaj Welfare Foundation and deposit things either in cash or in kind with the nearest camp of MWF.

==Minhaj Welfare Foundation sends relief goods of worth Rs. 3 million for Swat IDPs==

The first caravan of trucks carrying relief goods of worth Rs. 3 million was dispatched to Mardan by Minhaj Welfare Foundation yesterday. Eatable stuff, blankets, shoes, beds, clothes, medicines and tents are part of these relief goods. Talking to the media at the occasion of departure of trucks, Dr Shahid Mahmood, director of Minhaj Welfare Foundation, said that MQI was busy serving humanity day in and day out without any discrimination of religion, colour and race. Be it Tsunami in Indonesia, earthquake in Kashmir, NWFP and Iran, destruction wrought by floods, or rehabilitation of the Malakand affectees, MWF is there to help the suffering humanity in hour of trial and tribulations.

Dr Shahid said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has issued special instructions to provide every possible help and relief to our brethren of Malakand Division displaced by ongoing military action against the militants. Relief goods of Rs. 3 million are being immediately dispatched as a first installment with much more to follow in weeks to come.

He said that relief camps were set up in different parts of Pakistan where hundreds of workers were busy collecting donations and relief goods. The MQI chapters around the world were also working hard to contribute to the maximum in this regard. Director of Welfare Foundation vowed to stand by the nation in every hour of suffering. He said that service of humanity was the topmost motto of the Foundation. Iftikhar Shah Bukhari, Mian Tahir Yaqub, Bilal Mustafavi and Shameem Numberdar were also present at the occasion.

==Appeal of donation for Swat IDPs==

Under the instructions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Minhaj Welfare Foundation has launched relief and rehabilitation efforts for the Internally Displaced persons (IDPs). MQI chapters across Pakistan and around the world have started to organize relief camps in this regard.
Minhaj Welfare Foundation has also set up a special relief Fund. All workers, associates and general people are, therefore, urged to deposit their relief goods like flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil and tea with these camps. They may also send their cash donations directly to the central secretariat under the online Account No. 019700-1352-93-03, HBL, Minhaj-ul-Quran Branch, Lahore.
