XMerlyn03- Falling to Earth

If you like Yes, Genesis or early Pink Floyd, then you may like this... in part I have to dedicate this song to Colin Pillinger and the team behind the Beagle 2, I watched in fascination as the Beagle 2 project developed and was as intrigued as anyone else over that Christmas period to see if the craft had survived landing on Mars. In effect I came up with the following idea from thinking about what could have happened if the machine was somehow still out there and had survived, a story that fits in nicely as a conclusion to my concept idea (see the other videos I've posted for more details...and watch this space for even more details to follow !)......

...In the early 2000's, the Beagle 2 Lander craft was set to land on Mars to search for signs of life on the planet. Radio contact was lost on it's descent and the probe was deemed not to have not survived, but Beagle 2 was tenacious...With communications crippled, the machine had rebounded back into space at a tremendous velocity. Travelling un-noticed, the beleaguered machine re-assigns it's binary program to a new pre-code...survival. It sets a course for home, conserving itself and relying only on the gravitational force of the Sun and its planets it takes 500 years to get back to Earth.
In 2504, breaking into the Earth's upper atmosphere, it is completely unaware of the new world order of "The Voice". Radio sensors detect the hapless machine in its descent and the response from Earth is to destroy the "alien object", Plasma beams are unleashed, but then the faint beacon signal detected from the beagle is noted as being of Earthly origin. The attack is aborted, but attempts to destroy the hostile secondary missiles fail and they fall to Earth, unfortunately landing on a populated area known as Mayberry Hill, resulting in it's total devastation.......
