A video from 774 ABC Melbourne: They've come from long ago and far, far away but C3PO and R2D2 have arrived in Melbourne. The two famous robots and Princess Leia's dress are some of the star exhibits in Star Wars - Where Science Meets Imagination. They're not replicas either. The R2-D2 featured in all three of George Lucas' original Star Wars films: A New Hope (1977), Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983). The C-3PO was used in the newer Revenge of the Sith (2005). The dress is the classic white number worn by Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia in the original 1977 film. All three were carefully handled by glove-wearing Scienceworks staff. The exhibition also looks at the science of the series and how close we are to making the Star Wars fantasy a reality. Scienceworks in Spotswood hosts the exhibition from June 4 to November 3, 2009.
