Star Commander - Ug Has A Snack!!!

This is Ug, the information officer of the Sexy Beast having a snack. Intelligent and thoughtful, Ug is loved and adored by his colleagues, regardless of his habits. Ug's vast knowledge of planets, species and interstellar activity helps guide the crew on their missions.

Angela, the navigator depends on Ug to provide information about planetary conditions to land the ship safely. Ug's general disposition is calm curiosity. He is always seeking knowledge, however his interest in fiction sometimes taints his otherwise clear understanding of the universe. Ug is an Ugonopodopolin, a wise, but hideous creature that can not be looked at once in adult form. His appearance kills most creatures at first sight. He wears a large cloak to keep everyone near him alive. Ug's hunger is another one of his attributes that makes him dangerous. Ug eats large animals whole and has the nasty habit of expelling the remains.

Poor Henson was just following orders and had no idea that he was going to die. Oh well, let's just clone some more Hensons!!!

Nice work Geoff, great detail as always. I would like to see you playing around with depth more. Some more props in the foregound and maybe some focus play in the background.

Did you do the voices yourself?

@ApertureJam Thanks Jeff, I do the voice for Ug, Star and Fuzzywidget and a friend of mine does the voice for Henson. He does such a great job, I had to add more parts for him! I have several props built for the show and will be using them as we go through the animation process. But as far as focus, I guess I don't know how to do that in Toon Boom. I'm always willing to learn tho!

That was awesome! My favorite Star Commander clip yet! It works as a nice short on it's own. Dude the rotating holographic planet is awesome, please let me know how you did it!

@sonicsnout Thanks B! We can use these cells over and over! Ug is ready to animate! I made several layers and used transparency (alpha) and feathering for the effect, but I'll send you the file so you can see, cool?

@StarC0mmander It would certainly take your layout up another notch. I'm thinking just the slightest blur on the background. If Toonboom doesn't do that you could always blur the backgrounds in Photoshop.
