This guy was amazing. I stayed and watched him until our school group went to dinner, which was about 15-30 minutes. [he was right outside the restaurant]

Very cool. After dinner, he was taking off the costume/make-up, and we got to talk to him a little about what he did.
He was 28, and had been a street actor for 10 years. He had practiced this routine since August 2005.

EDIT:
The man who played as the statue has contacted me, and asked if I could post a link to his website.
Here it is.

  • Couldn't all of that makeup be harmful?

The least would be to clog pores, and deprive of Vitamin D.

  • Probably. I, as a generality, don't wear make-up at all.

But he cleaned his face very well, and seemed to have a perfectly normal skin tone, so he probably got out more than just to do his statue thang. ;D

  • Where was this?

  • This was somewhere in London, though I'm not sure where -in- London.

  • I think it may be the entrance to Covent Gardens? By the carosel.

  • Yep. I just saw one of my friend's pictures that had the name of the restaurant, and I was able to find it on google.

  • its becouse of people like this i love the big city

  • @freedomfighter13103 Really? You'd assault someone just because they were standing still? Would that make you feel good? Guy's a performer, doing his job, entertaining you, and you suggest doing violence to him. You're a charmer, you are.

  • i wouldve tackled him

  • that guys so freakn good dude

  • Im looking for John Connor...

  • for the record guys... I myself used to be a human statue. This is on the road leading from covent garden tube station down to the market place, and no, the makeup is not harmful. It is special body paint that allows your skin to breath. I used to cover myself head to toe in the copper paint and my skin is fine so.... :)

  • yoooooooo this guys suit is off the hook!!! looks like real statue. What paint did you use to get it to look like that and your face is super dope too man!!! hit me back

  • Remarkable, his movements are flawless! i've seen other 'living statues' who attempt a 'robotic' type of movement, but they always seem to fail somehow...well done my good man!

  • @springtimebreeze Virginia Hey, who played the role of Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan on Farscape, eventually had to leave the show because the extensive blue body paint she was required to wear was causing her kidneys to bleed. D:

  • SEE THAT KID IN THE BLUE T-SHIRT BOOOO!!!!!!!!
