Lease Purchase Negotiation
I will share with you a negotiation tip that will apply to a lease purchase deal or any other real estate deal -- really any area of life. This hit home for me when I went to Lowe's over the weekend to buy our Christmas tree. With the whole family in tow, we were off to buy the biggest tree we could buy. If you know me, it's a cardinal rule to never buy on retail -- always buy at a discount. After haggling and discussing with almost everyone from the check-out personnel to the manager on getting a discount, I began to realize that I should be treating this whole scenario as if it were a real estate deal. Don't sit and be combative of a deal -- trying to get what you want -- but try to focus on the other person's (seller's) needs. Find out why they're selling; find out the specifics of the transaction that would help them win. Open your ears and put together tailor made solutions. This way will give you more profitable real estate deals and everyone will be happier.
