Correct.
The song is a true story about a fire at a social club in NY called HappyLand. The fire occured in March 25 1990.
If you Google Steve Spak he has aftermath photos of the blaze which was cause by a drunken man after a row with his girlfriend who worked there.
Crazy stuff.
Brilliant song BTW. Duran at their very best!
