That is not true at akk! I have 2 Tissot watches and one omega and a hamilton! I can tell you, I have never had a problem with my watches at all! They are solid watches in the medium price-range and they use very good material for the watches. The "Swatch-Group" owns so many brands and to say you would never buy a watch of this Group is absurd.

@MattBailyJewelry taken from wikipedia: The Hamilton name brand is currently owned by The Swatch Group Ltd. Swatch Group Hamilton brand watches have grown increasingly popular. Modern Hamilton watches no longer use proprietary "in house" movements, instead using movements made by The Swatch Group's movement making subsidiary, ETA.
i would never buy any watch under Swatch group.....do u know how many customer complaints they get?...most of the times they void your warranty and charge you

prefer Ball watches as their tritium gas tubes glow for 25 years in dark as compared to few minutes to hours in luminova based glow-system

@13vafanculo Not an accurate statement at all. The Swatch Group owns Omega, Blancpain, Longines, Glashutte, etc. Hardly "Swatches."

@georgegrasser ... ran out of characters. Anyway, I can talk about watches all day. Perhaps it would interest you to join us on facebook (mattbailywatches) or twitter (matt_baily). Thanks

@georgegrasser I've been to watch factories in Switzerland (there is a recent post on our blog about a visit to Alpina and Frederique Constant) and I can say that all these high end watches are extraordinary. I don't think anyone's gonna get punk'd ever. In the case of Patek you pay a considerable amount of money for the name, but that also pretty much guarantees that your watch will always be desirable and valuable (unless its a ladies' model). It comes down to supply and demand ...

@13vafanculo Hahah! Just because Hamilton is owned by the Swatch group doesn't meant that they are the same as Swatch! Hamilton has its own factories and everything.

In defence for the titanic DNA watches I'd like to say that they are really well made watches. The rust comes from the ex Romain Jerome CEO Yvan Arpa's obsession with the aesthetic of decay. But yes, I don't think anyone should be dipping into their savings to splurge on one. That is why I like Hamilton watches so much. Great price to quality ratio.
