  • You should really spend some money on paint and fixing the body instead of dumping it all into your motor. I'm a performance over looks guy but there's a certain extent that you stop at. Other then that tho, clean engine bay.

  • @TJcars2 - what makes you think I spent ALL my money on the engine? The car's paint had JUST been sprayed and was being wet sanded. Have you ever done that before? Ill try to edit the video to post a finished shot....

  • i always wanted to 2JZ-GTE/GE swap an mk3, how much did the swap cost? and what kind of problems might i encounter?

  • @Suprafreke You could probably get a GE swap to work for under 1k, even as cheap as 5-600 bucks if you get the parts in the right place. Turbocharged applications will cost a lot more. Going GE-T vs installing a GTE engine is less expensive. A full GTE swap will cost at least 2k but you can go GE-T with a nice aftermarket turbo and Megasquirt standalone for 2k. Its all in what you want

  • gte head?

  • @ldadol No. GE head with GTE valve covers and coil packs. Intake manifold was built on GE runners with a 4" aluminum pipe and the exhaust manifold is used in turbo lexus applications

  • @carman594 Many of the electronics will swap over but I dont think the coil packs will. I used all 2jz ignition components with and aftermarket C2DI ignition amplifier. There is no distributor because I used a 7MGTE cam position sensor and wired the outputs to the 2JZ AEM. It doesnt know the difference. You just have to read and understand the TSRM wire diagram to figure out how to do it.

  • @p5150 Woah. I didnt mean for it to sound so offensive. It's hard to tell what exactly all the white shit (now know as sanding dust) on the car was at the time. It's a clean car. IMO tho I think you should get the exhaust can tucked in a little bit more.

  • All 2JZ wire harness with some parts remaining from the 2JZ. You just have to read both TSRM wire diagrams to figure out the type of sensor or device control to see what you need to wire to what input/output.

  • @MARooNSUPRaMK3 - No. I am using a non-turbo 2JZ-GE wire harness that has been modified with a few pins reassigned and integrated into the MKIII chassis. I am using a 2JZ-GTE AEM. I think its the 1100? The 1101 is the NA version from what I remember.....

  • yeah sounds great! just tail pipe...

  • what cams is that running? sounds like some lope
