This is a few clips of a lost raccoon that was saved from starvation in the forest by Evee and Drew. She was dehydrated and suffering from ticks in the ear. She was brought back to health and treated for her ticks, and once determined healthy enough, brought back to the forest for its mother to find it. Supposedly its common for a mother to be gone from her kits for quite some time. The kits will sometimes go exploring and get lost. The operation was a success, hopefully she lives a long and healthy life out of our ash cans :P
We think this one was at least a month old if not more. Its eyes were fully opened and its face pattern was complete. It was also pretty agile when it wanted to be. But it was still on milk, and was probably being weaned off of it.

I was a bit freaked out by it even though its super cute(I'm kinda used to being a bit freaked out from my hedgehog always trying to enjoy a tasty snack on my fingers and feet u.u). So I was trying to keep my distance. They've got quite the grip though. Also if you're wondering, she was trying to suckle Evee's sock because I guess it felt like her moms nipples.

  • babies this young dont drink water, BUT, they do drink lots of baby blend milk....please bring him to a wildlife rehab place or get the proper nutritional care!!!! He needs a tremendous amount of care and attention right now!!!! This is a living thing not a toy!

  • @jacquelinethomson1, this baby was taken care of properly don't worry. it was given all the milk it needed, and was treated for any illnesses. A wildlife rescue company was contacted and they suggested for us to save it ourselves. In any case the baby has been released back to its mother in the forest so nature will take its course from here on out.

  • I had 2 raccoons! I raised my first one from a newborn which she fell out of a tree. Baby was her name...she got into rat poisoning and died at 6 months:( I miss her dearly! I then got a permit, and went thru a breeder and raised another one. I named her Sassy and she died at 8 months old...One day when I am settled down and win over the gypsy in me I will have another one and with the right habitat she will die of old age:) They are very smart and mischevious...

  • I found a baby racoon in the middle of the road gasping for air so I caried it to a field of grass but all I could do is watch struggle for it's last breaths of air. It just bothers me how I'm the only one who stopped and cared everyone else just drove on almost hiting the racoon and me

  • How do you know it found it's mother? How long did you have it?

  • @tomlayful so glad to hear a happy ending, all too often it isnt. I one year old human raised male wondered into my studio and has never left...he prefers humans and I fear has no idea how to find food. There are several others that come nightly that I have known from babies and their moms and mom's moms as babies. Raccoons are an amazing species, one that should not be considered varmints.
