He spent his university life on Keele's student radio station and created the university's first hip hop and RnB club night.

He was put forward for the Student Radio Awards for his Friday night show on KUBE Radio after winning the "Best Show" award 2 years in succession. After graduating in 2005 he took up a role for the major record label ''Warner Brothers'. He was working closely with promotions staff and artists that included P.Diddy, Sean Paul, Missy Elliot, Craig David, Kano, Lupe Fiasco, Twista, and TI to name but a few. Since 2006 Martin 2 Smoove has been working in a full-time management position at the Ministry of Sound running and promoting London's biggest student night called 'Milkshake' as well as DJ'ing for the club on an international level.

Martin 2 Smoove has hosted the 'Breakfast Show' On London's De Ja Vu station from 2005 - 2008. He was known for his funny and original presenting style where he played all forms of new black music. In 2010 Martin 2 Smoove was part of the BBC 1Xtra DJ Relay world record attempt in London. Martin 2 Smoove has played at the biggest clubs throughout the country including Ministry of Sound, Fabric and Heaven to name but a local few. Martin 2 Smoove now works closely with Trevor Nelson and DJ Hanif promoting and DJ'ing at the "Trevor Nelson Presents" parties throughout the UK. These events often involve working with major artists either for promotional purposes or for concert after parties; recent artists that have performed at these events include Trey Songz, Bruno Mars and Travie McCoy. Throughout the Easter period Martin 2 Smoove and the team will be hosting parties in Leeds, Birmingham and Nottingham.

Adding to this expanding list Martin 2 Smoove has also played at established international venues including Es Paradis in Ibiza, Saxx in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Bon Bon in Shanghai, MJQ in Atlanta, Brut in Beirut, St Ives in Cape Town, Ministry of Sound's night 'Smoove' in Bahrain and Mix in Beijing.
