Leda: Puppy Agility Crosses

Just for fun . . .
I'm experimenting with using my Flip Movie Mix program verses Windows Movie maker, just uploading some of the play training Leda & I did today to see how it comes out. I rarely post my training sessions as I think they may be quite boring to watch for anyone but me, LOL!

Today I decided that I'd better work a bit more on Rear Crosses...
You see, I have been able to more or less out-run every dog I've ever handled -- mine or someone elses. It's not that I'm some amazingly fast runner or anything (LOL) just that my dogs aren't/have yet to be speed demons. In my several years of agility trialing I don't know that I've ever done more than one or two Rears. I am always Front and Blind Crossing. .... however... I think Leda is going to be FAST and I'd better get going or I'll be in trouble later on! ;-)

This is an entire training session, I did my best to edit out long periods of tugging.
Sequence #1:
Rear the tunnel, Rear/Flip Both Cones. Leda isn't quite sure about the 2nd cone but she figures it out fast! Good puppy Lee-Lee!

Sequence #2:
In my "comfort zone" again.. back to fronts, etc. :-P

Sequence #3:
Watch and laugh at me as I almost trip over my poor puppy because I greedily try to throw in an extra tunnel that I hadn't planned for!

Sequence #4:
Two more Rear crosses. One at the tunnel the second a Rear/Flip of the cone.

Thanks! I'm hoping that all of our many, many hours working tight turns on the flat & with cones from the get-go will transfer over to tighter turns when we start jump sequencing next year... time will tell! ;-) This is a learning process for both of us!

Thank you for the nice words! =) I am very pleased with how Leda's puppy turns are coming along, she really seems to understand that I want her to move snuggly around the cone, then dig in and accelerate. The acceleration is her favorite part. ;-)

Thanks! Leda is loving "puppy agility" so much that I can't even take her out to go potty without her trying to pull me into the backyard toward "the fun stuff!" =) I'm lovin' her enthusiasm! LOL!
