  • Shifting the mode on the fly WILL FUCK UP YOU COMPUTER in your bike seriously go ask your dealer about it I just got a k8 six hundred and that's the first thing he warned me about.... I'm not a mechanic or anything like that just going off what a professional told me so check it out for your self, I'd hate to see you ruin a beautiful bike like yours..

  • I work at a motorcycle dealership im a mech their..... n i have a powercommander n other stuff on mine so my bike is not really stock but thanxz tho not bein n azz

  • A -setting is just the Normal setting, not some crazy racing setting.

  • With a power commander and the kind of exhaust that i have it makes it a pretty race ready setting. I cant just ride around town in that setting

  • Yeah you can, it's just the normal setting. Every other 600cc you see is driving around in "A mode" and A-mode only because the others don't even have the 3 mode option. Is yours a 600? What's the C mode like on it?

  • No not every other bike is riding around in a-mode their bike are just set two one power band at the factory but the gxsr's happen to have a switch to change... Yea its a 600 C-mode on mine is stock setting no change from having it on or off powerband is short and kicks in around 6grand

  • Damn you got 73,000 miles? Thats a lot of riding

  • Hey thanks bro. I just bought the same bike 3 days ago and I had no idea what the a b c mode meant. You explained everything in a nut shell. Thanks again.

  • This guy is wrong, and I have to point it out, the mode settings are as follows:

A: Full power, standard, how the bike left the factory.

B: Full power until 50% throttle, then it reduces the power to allow for wet riding.

C: Reduced power all across the rev range for increased fuel efficiency/riding in adverse conditions.

Not having any mode set = you are in 'A' mode.

A Mode does NOT reduce your fuel consumption compared to no mode setting at all. Who buys a supersports to worry about fuel?

  • @hallal55 no that is not how it works. First of All theres always a power band on everything. There is no such thing as something doesn't have a power band. There is the highest point in the power band which is where the bike has the most torque and a certain RPM. This is a great bike but for a first bike I would stay away from super sports because they suck for the street. Trust me I know I have one and a sports touring and my sports touring owns my SS for the street.

  • @icharm425 I am sorry to tell you that your dealer is not telling you the truth. More than likely cause he doesn't actually know. He is there to sell the bike. According to the factory you can change maps on the fly at any speed or engine speed.

  • @Supratt88 the stock setting from the factory is A mode. If you are riding in any other mode and turn the bike off once you turn it back on it will return to the factory setting which is A.

  • lol watch (Suzuki GSX-R1000 Drive Mode Selector with John Reynolds) in this vid they show that you can shift on the fly

  • lol....dude....
