This is a late 1940's original condition General Electric circulator electric fan with a patented 24 inch vortalex blade. This vintage fan has been cleaned inside and out, polished and oiled. Here's a little demo of how this fan runs!
I also own a vortalex...it's from about 1952. Original grey hammertone finish, 3 blades, also same blade shape, same cage,..only mine is 120v only, and 3 speed. Switch mounted on the side of motor cover. Pull 1, very slow,..couple 00 rpm,..2nd pull about 50%, and 3rd..it blows everything loose about the room! Still has original round pin plug going directly into motor.
I bought it off a lady who used it in her house. Her father originally purchased for his machine shop. Ppl like it!
oh wow! what a beauty! im hopeing to find one of those someday! i love the vortalex blade design. and like you do i to like the sound a vortalex makes! its much different than most other fan sounds!
