Reagan ruined the Republican party with his 11th commandment--thou shalt not say anything bad about a fellow Republican. Consequently,they pretend to be in lock-step on every issue, and are unable to work in the center. They hush up every misstep they make and look sleazy doing so. And are afraid of being true to themselves because they must answer to the increasingly weird, right-wing nuts of their own party.
Democrat's strength, strangely enough is their inability to unite. Diversity is good.
