In my opinion, Jack Lord (Steve McGarrett) was the man who set the standard by which all other TV law enforcement characters are measured. He was (and still is) the top of the tops.

Great tribute with the video, but the song's gotta go, bruddah! Sounds like something that would be used for the new artificially-flavoured remake. But yeah, you're right, bruddah: how dare they think they can remake the show! You can't touch a legend!

The Original is always the best-the remake can't touch the original

The remake of hawaii 5-0 is a load of bullshit. CBS clearly has a bunch of aasholes at the helm to allow such a crappy remake to be aired. The original will always be the best. The new cast dresses like a bunch of hobos and lacks professional police investigation. CBS, fuck you for what you did to 5-0 with this shitty remake. Thank God Jack Lord is not alive to see it!

I like the new hawaii 5-0 equally as well as the old one . they are different but I think that is what makes them good. I loved Jack Lord .

@BobCraneIsMyHero - You say -- How dare they think they can remake the show! You can't touch the legend! - What would you know listening to this head banging crap, the new Hawaii Five-0 is much better than the old one, much more exciting.

@BlueSmokeBurnOut It's not too late to start. Full-length episodes are on YouTube.

Wow what an excellent choice of photos. He certianly was a very handsome man to say the least.I have many of the Hawii Five-O episodes taped and elways enjoyed all of them .The new Hawii Five-O is really an insult to the old series and can't even compare. And what is more ridiculous about it is that Hawii Five O was never a comedy and there is too much comedy in the new one that I won't even waste my time watching.Thank you for sharing this wonderful video

The new "Hawaii Five-O" TV show is a great tradition of a classic that can not die forgotten. I felt, at first, that it was disrespectful to try an remake it, but I actually see that it is a new ground for a classic. You can always remember that it had a predecessor that began the tradition and it gives the new genre something to watch and relate to. Besides, McGarrett and Danno will live forever in our hearts...like Lucy!

Jack Lord will always be one of my favourites he is one of those special people who get even better looking as they get older and he had a wonderful charm about him sadly missed...

WHOEVER made this video tribute of Jack Lord has a heart of gold.thank you!!!!!!!As we watch Steve's reruns,I've noticed more in-depth things of McGarrett, and all his detective friends of the original Hawaii Five-0.I notice more now when Iam older. He was heroic,he was debonair,he had strong & righteous emotions,he was strict,he was righteously uncompromising,& most of all,his character was heart-warming too.

@CulturePeaceForever Thank you SO MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WORDS!!! I am only 29 years old, but I absolutely love classic television, and Jack Lord is an angel. Thank you so much!

I grew up watching five O. In my opinion it was and still is the best cop show on the tube. I loved the cast, Steve, Danno, Kono and the rest. I have watched the new one, its OK but nothing will ever replace the original. Perhaps Jack Lords legacy is the 40 million he left charity after he and his wife died. He was not only a good actor, and the only Steve McGarrett but most obviously a truly good person.
