@LuisaVera - As in the video, it's fine to do while the phone is still on.

going to study in Europe for 4 months..how much do prepaid sim cards usually go for (in euros - ill be in Spain)? Also, do I need to "unlock" my iphone 4s in order to use one? thanks!

@Steelcurtain6291 - You'll need to unlock your iPhone if it's locked, I'm not sure if you could use for example a T-Mobile Spain SIM in your T-Mobile US phone.

And a pre-paid SIM with no minutes or credit goes for free or £1 most the time in the UK.

@RavenVaughan Then that means you got it from AT&T or Verizon. If you were to buy it from other places you would. But like he said in the video, you can just use a small paper clip, works fine.
