Hey guys!! So I finally got bored enough to write another chapter!! (Kidding) Haha this one's long and boring, sorry (: But enjoy it anyways.
Auburn Welch --
"Auburn Leigh Welch." Nurse Rebecca said as she wrote my name on the papers, "Here is your new medicine, make sure you take it with you everywhere this time." she smiled and winked at me.
"I know, I think I learned my lesson for now." I winked back with emphasis. She laughed and stood up from the chair she was sitting in. "Your mom is in the waiting room, your, um, 'friend' had to leave."
"Okay, thanks!" I said trying to actually sound enthusiastic about taking new medication, plus my old one, plus asthma medication, plus weekly checkups. Oh the joy of being a cancer patient. (A/N You see, now if you haven't already guessed she has cancer, ahahaha)
I picked up the medication off of the counter and let the nurse open the door for me. She sat me down in the wheelchair and wheeled me to the elevator. The nurse tried her best to make small talk to that the ride wasn't as awkward as it always is.
When we got to the bottom floor she let me go by myself without the wheelchair. I picked up my bag from the floor of the elevator where I had set it, thanked the nurse, and pulled out my phone. I wanted to call my mom to tell her to go start the car because I was cold, but instead I pulled up my text messages and looked through them, just then I got a new message.
'u feeling better? Im still in town if u want me to stop by??'
From Justin? Who's Justin?
'im sorry, but who is this?'
I didn't want to sound rude, but, what was I supposed to say? 'Yeah, come on over to the house, person-who-probably-doesn't-even-know-wh
Then my phone vibrated,
'lol, think the alley and ambulances. I put my number into ur phone for u.'
'NO! This is a poser of Justin Bieber, because it surely isn't him.' I kept thinking to myself, I just couldn't convince myself that it wasn't.
So I responded,
'Okay, 1201 California St. come around 3 if you don't mind?'
By this time I had already checked out and was in the waiting room with my mom. I was expecting her to ask tons of questions about Justin Bieber, coming to my room and helping me and having to pretend to be my brother. But she kept her mouth shut and just drove home silently.
I got a text message while we were driving home, 'okay, see u soon'
I glanced over at the clock, 2:38.
Too close to 3:00; I decided to try to get my mind off the subject by asking my mom why she was being so quiet.
"Mommy, are you okay?"
"Yes, I am fine, Auburn."
"Okay, mommy." I didn't believe her, "I have a friend coming over at three. Justin, they boy that got me to the hospital."
"Okay," she nodded, eyes still locked on the road, "Auburn, honey, one more thing, you need to stop forgetting your medicine and inhaler and start remembering, because NOTHING, and I mean nothing, is as important as your LIFE."
She didn't yell, she just talked firmly, like she meant it. I understood her, but she knew I was going to die anyways, why she even bothers trying to feed me medication doesn't make sense.
"Okay mom, sorry, I love you."
I let my eyes drift out the window at the over-rated suburban houses and fake lawns.
Then over to the clock, 2:45.
Then back over to see my driveway, I almost leaped out of my car, and probably would have if my stomach didn't feel weird from all the tests they did. I ran to the house and waited for my mom to come and unlock the door so I could get in, (A/N I have to do that all the time!!! xD ) Sprinted upstairs and threw together something that looked semi-nice. Put on perfume, fixed my hair, and waited downstairs.
hope you enjoyed (:
