@Vortex42 I fully agree with you and now see the whole thing clearer since I've followed alot of the conversation between dodford and yourself. All the best to you as well.

stop making video games look like they are made only for children! you should have used a picture of a 30 year old since that is the average age of a gamer. also use violent games like crysis. because I'm a Huge pacifist, but at 6 years old I played turok 2 for the n64. so the violence of the game adds to the fun, not the kids outlook on life.

Stop saying 'arousal'!

@popsilol I'm all for speculation and hypothesis. But I'm not all for people making blind assertions as if they are fact, when the evidence just isn't there. All the best.

@Vortex42 Since we are all, in this discussion, speculating about the outcome of the research I meant, in my last post, not to claim that you were of an absolute opinion but rather that you had a hypothesis about it which I did not agree with.
I too find this very interesting and I too think that one should look to evidence before one makes up one's mind about something. However, I do not see why we cannot speculate, and form hypotheses, without evidence.

@honestyize How about Mega Man 2 or Ghouls and Goblins. -_-
-
@doford You realise that this is only a short clip from a longer presentation on FORA? I have yet to watch the full presentation, myself. Have you? Be careful - because I fully intend to do so.
Even if the scientists hadn't yet proved their hypothesis, that is NOT proof that your assertion is true. It wouldn't change the fact that you have made your own assertion, for which you have no supporting evidence.
You have no basis for concluding that it would be a brain-numbing process.

I been playing video games since 5 and im 28 and im a genius!

@Vortex42 They've done the experiment and haven't seen the results hoped for, that's what I understand from this anyway.
Having brain waves linked to a computer does do amazing stuff but I don't understand the reasoning or see the evidence for this kind application of brain wave technology.

@popsilol No - I don't hold any "beliefs". What I did was challenge Doford's assertion that this would lead to a permanant desensitivity in the subjects. That is a blind assertion, being made with absolutely no evidence.
I find the research interesting, and look forward to seeing what the results are. I don't "believe" in them, or in anything else. If the research proves the case that the scientists are making, I'll *accept* it. If not, then I won't accept it.
That's the correct way.
YouTube is a good escape for ones emotions/anger as well. Just read the comments!!
