Cry-st, Death Gaze was a bastard!
Hits like a truck times 3 and rather fast.
ANYTHING below 800HP is in the danger of being instant killed since he can hit for over 700. He also likes to use instant kill attacks and dispell a lot so pray that he uses dispell in a time when you're about to get your health up. Keep using Invis alot to get your Evasion high enough so his attacks will Miss and wear your Elven Cloak like a second layer of skin. And for your own sake, tie that ribbon into your hair or you'll be dead before you even know what happened.

Ouch. Next time you do a solo, remember to use the Defense Sword/Defender in the Waterfall Cave to buff up your evade, the Ruse/Blink spell maxes it out way faster (3 uses in NES, should be about the same in DoS) and will make life so much easier.
Do you recommend doing the extra bosses before or after doing the Temple of Fiends Revisited and killing Chaos? I'm just wondering how crazily strong you become if you beat these guys first, does it make you way too overpowered?

As previously said, I avoid using Weapon-spells because I find them more on the lines of cheating due to it allows any class to solo anything.
Well, since I got to Lv 99(100) before I even fought Chaos by only fighting all the random encounters I faced (those in the sky gives an insane amount of EXP if defeated by a solo party member), this was pretty much as strong as one can get.
I think I were Lv 99 before engaging Chaos even and he still provided me with somewhat of a challenge.
