um, Jesus was killed by the Romans, but, according to the bible, it was the Pharisees (a sect of Jews, i believe) who pressured Pontius Pilate to execute him/Him. If i'm not mistaken, a mob brought Jesus to Pilate, and he gave them a choice to humiliate and kill either Jesus, or a convicted criminal. The Pharisees chose the former, and let the criminal go free. Having said that, i think both parties are to blame. But if you want to get technical, the Romans definitely crucified him/Him.

@azelaer the Romans preferred to decapitatate their crimminals as it was a more humane methode. It was the Pharisees who made a case against Jesus and insisted on crucification since the victims could last for days before they died. So it was in fact the Pharisees who executed him...
