Critical Analysis of Kent Hovind's Age of the Earth

A critical analysis of the first of Kent Hovind's lecture series on evolution. This video exposes many of the half-truths, misconceptions, and outright lies propagated by Kent Hovind as proof against the Theory of Evolution. However, little in this first lecture has anything to do with the Theory of Evolution. Much of the video is devoted to tangents that have nothing to do with science whatsoever. Many of these tangents as well as Hovind's distasteful jokes have been removed; all of his pseudo-scientific arguments remain intact and are exposed for what they are.

I too was indoctrinated, but you and I managed to follow the evidence regardless of implication. I think critical thought his about desire--want to-- in a lot of ways and those who never question the illogical nature of religion, or the obvious historical/scientific problems, or ignore contradictory evidence or rationalize it away, really just fear losing their comfortable illusions. At some level, i think, they don't believe at all, but merely fervently hope that at least some of it's true.

As well done as this vid was, it made me depressed because it seems that the average creatard either skips right to comments and doesn't watch, or just ignores the refutations and facts, of any refutation, almost the way two people arguing ignore what the other is saying so they can form their own counter-points while the other speaks. Hovind is a dissembler that knows his BS can't stand up to scrutiny, but his willfully ignorant defenders who really think he is on to something kill me.
