Gregory Isaacs - Permanent Lover

Born Gregory Anthony Isaacs on 15 July 1950 or 51, in Fletchers Land, Kingston, he emerged in the 1970's as one of the most popular and prolific recording artists in Jamaica.

He released a number of self produced singles on his African Museum label, which he formed in 1973 with Errol Dunkley.

Much of his output reflected the concious themes of roots reggae, but he was equally adept at interpreting more mainstream lovers rock material.

Gregory Isaacs is probably best known for his hit song Night Nurse released on Island Records in 1982.

My daddy mon ( We called him Daddy Mon) was one of the trombone players on this song. I once heard him in the den downstairs playing the chorus along with the record. it was cool. I didn't think it was anything special at 7 yrs old. But since he's now dead and i'm older and never really got a true manly connection with him, I love him more when hearing this.

That's all i got left.

yeah it's been sometime. He never picked up the Trombone since he got sick with kidney problems and had to go through constant dialisys in the late 80's. He was buried with his Favorite Trombone in '93 and i have another one in my apartment hanging on the wall. I was a heavy drinker for a long time too. But now i tell people to love yourself and take better care your body - Fuck money. All you have is your body - Live forever if you can. And eat good. And never be a musician !

Can't see how you read it that way. Just basic info on the artist for those that may not know.
